A samurai's steed, she followed orders without question. Their last mission took them through waves, towards a barge. They charged with comrades, trudging through the water in full armor. Halfway there it became obvious they wouldn't make it. Archers on the boat were picking people off, and the water was too harsh. Her rider was too heavy. But it was her order to get him to the boat. In her heart she knew they couldn't succeed, but her will power refused to accept that. She became lost in her inner conflict, and as the water became too deep, her soul was pulled from that moment. History will never know if she could have fought her way to the boat, to her master's target, or drowned trying, for that lost moment made her an esk. Now her master's armor sits at the bottom of the sea somewhere, dragged off the shore by water and time.
